About John

John Linnehan is the 3rd generation of the Linnehan family to be involved in various businesses ventures. He has been involved with real estate of all types. In addition, he has owned and operated retail businesses in several different industries. He is most recognized for his contributions within the automobile industry. John has owned, or been majority owner of, up to 4 new car dealerships at one time with 10 different franchises and over 200 employees. His primary responsibilities as COO were administration and team building. He is currently the driving force behind Credit Now! Auto Company, the largest volume used car dealership in Maine and Atlantic Acceptance Corporation, the largest volume privately owned used car finance company in Maine. Also in 2000, John founded USA Computer Systems, a Microsoft solutions developer of software, specializing in Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for Used Car Dealers. He is currently COO of these 3 companies with his primary duties of administration and team building for their 100 +/- employees.

In the late 1980’s, John realized from all his variety of business experience, that from a high level of profitability and Return On Investments, used cars were “the way to go.” John decided that he was going to “put all his eggs in one basket”, as Andrew Carnegie said, “and then watch that basket”! He was going to sell off all his other business interests and pioneer and develop two prime areas of business: 1. Used car sales 2. Financing the used cars sold. In 1991 Credit Now! Auto Company was “born”. John opened the first branch of Linnehan’s Credit Now! Auto Company in his hometown of Ellsworth, Maine. He gradually sold all of his new car dealerships, the last one being Linnehan’s Ellsworth Ford Sales in 1997. The companies now focus and concentrate almost exclusively on selling, financing and providing software solutions in the ever-expanding used car market. Currently, Linnehan Investments has branched out into 5 different physical locations across the state of Maine. Their goal is still to provide their customers with reliable, cost-effective, top quality yet affordable transportation. John is recognized nationally as a business leader in his field. He is a featured speaker at conventions and his businesses are written about in many national publications.

Most importantly, John is a dedicated, committed, Bible believing Christian. He has spoken, preached, lectured, and taught about the importance of each person developing his or her own personal relationship with God through a personal relationship with God’s only Son, Jesus Christ. John has spoken in the United States, as well as internationally, traveling as far as India and South America. John is active in his local church and is a Board Member at Acadia Christian School.

John is past Chairman of the Hancock County Republican Committee (HCRC) and has served on its Executive Committee. In addition, he was on the Board of Directors of the Maine College Republicans.

John is married to Heather, his high school sweetheart and his best friend. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. They have 2 grown sons, Ryan who is 36 and Chadd who is 34. Both sons are also directly involved in the management of the family businesses. John has 7 Grandchildren, with whom he enjoys spending as much time as possible.
